ADDYMAN, Sylvia. (Dubuque County, IA, May 2, 1921--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 6, 2015) The daughter of Gilbert and Margaret (Lutz) Schlung, Sylvia graduated from DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL and received her BSN from the Michael Reese School of Nursing. She served as a 1st lieutenent in the US Army Nursing Corps during WORLD WAR II. Sylvia married Homer W. Addyman on Nov. 10, 1947 at GRANDVIEW AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.

Sylvia was active with the Red Cross and the Little Cloud Girl Scout Council where she served as a neighborhood chairman, member of the board of directors, and senior troop advisor. She was the camp nurse at Camp Little Cloud. Her activity with the COLTS DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS included being a board Member and traveling as Corps nurse for six years. At Grandview Church she served as a Sunday School teacher and WSCS member, board member and circle leader. She was a member of Americlub, Emerald Crown Club, Women Connect, Friendship Force, John Deere Retirees, 62 Plus Club, and the Red Hat Club.
