ACADEMY OF BALLET. The Academy of Ballet, located in the GRAND OPERA HOUSE, was founded in 1959 by Tatiana Bechenora O'ROURKE. The Dubuque City Directory of 1959 through 1968 listed the address as 552 1/2 Main.

The 1972 Dubuque City Directory listed 800 Main.

The 1974 through 1983 Dubuque City Directory listed 799 Main Room 301.

The 1987 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 880 Locust Room 228.

In 2010 the Academy was under the direction of her daughter, Marina O'ROURKE.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Academy of Ballet to properly train and expose students to the art of ballet. It is our goal to develop a life long appreciation for this art as a dancer, and as a knowledgeable member of the audience.
